Welcome to LEX BEX! We are a community "Built by Kids, for Kids." Because our space is designed for explorers under the age of 13, we take privacy and safety very seriously. This policy explains how we handle information in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

1. Our "Mom-Curated" Promise

At LEX BEX, we do not believe in tracking kids or selling data.

  • We never sell, rent, or trade your child’s information to third parties.

  • We never use behavioral or targeted advertising.

  • Every piece of content is personally reviewed by "Mom" to ensure a safe, positive environment.

2. Information We Collect

We limit the collection of personal information to only what is necessary for participation in our activities:

  • For Participation: To share a project or join a newsletter, we may ask for a First Name and a Parent’s Email Address.

  • Submissions: If a child sends us a photo of their creation, we only store that photo to display it on the site. We encourage parents to ensure no faces or identifying location markers are in the photos.

  • Technical Data: We use privacy-first analytics that do not track individual users across the web. We do not use "persistent identifiers" (like cookies) to build profiles of our visitors.

3. How We Get Consent

In accordance with the 2026 FTC updates, we use Verifiable Parental Consent:

  • If a child submits a form, we send an email to the parent.

  • The child’s information is "parked" in a secure, temporary folder and is not added to our community until the parent replies to confirm consent.

  • If no consent is received within 7 days, the submission and email address are permanently deleted.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We don't keep data longer than we need it.

  • Project Photos: Retained as long as the gallery post is active.

  • Inquiry Emails: Deleted 90 days after the last communication.

  • Newsletter Emails: If you unsubscribe, your data is scrubbed within 30 days.

  • Account Information: If a parent requests deletion, we will remove all associated data within 48 hours.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We only work with service providers (like our website host or email service) who are also COPPA-compliant. These partners are strictly prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

6. Parental Rights

You are in the driver's seat. At any time, parents have the right to:

  1. Review the personal information we have collected about their child.

  2. Direct us to delete that information.

  3. Refuse to permit further collection or use of the child's information.
