If I Made My Own Tea Party… it would be __________
We took the idea of a tea party (partly because Bex as been obsessed with setting up “Tea Parties” for her toys and stuffy friends) and made it our own. We’re making this corner a place to spill the tea and share your thoughts, ideas and creations!
Tea Party Facts:
1. High Tea vs. Low Tea: In England, "Low Tea" (now known as Afternoon Tea) was a sophisticated, mid-afternoon snack for the upper class. "High Tea" was a hearty evening meal for the working class, served at a high table.
2. In 1773, American colonists protested "taxation without representation" by throwing 342 chests of British tea into Boston Harbor. It wasn't actually a party!
3. The Mad Hatter’s Perpetual Party: Lewis Carroll’s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland features one of literature’s most chaotic and enduring "mad" tea parties, where it’s always tea time.
